The Astronomical Society of Ethiopia (ASE) is excited to invite you to its historic first General Assembly, a special two-day virtual conference on May 25–26, 2026. This event is a unique opportunity for scientists, teachers, students, and all space enthusiasts to come together, share ideas, and celebrate Ethiopia’s rich sky and space heritage.
The assembly will feature presentations and discussions on important topics in astronomy and space science, while also offering a chance to connect with experts and peers from across the country and beyond. Together, we will explore new ways to advance space research, education, and awareness in Ethiopia, and work toward building a strong and lasting astronomical community for future generations.

Call for Abstracts
We invite researchers and students to submit abstracts for Oral Presentations. We are seeking work that contributes to the advancement of astronomy and space science within the following thematic areas:
Theoretical and observational cosmology
Galaxies, Quasars & Cosmic Structures
Stellar Formation and Evolution
Planet Formation and Exoplanets
Computational Tools for Cosmic Discovery
Cultural Astronomy and Astro-tourism

Submission Guidelines
ASE invites students, researchers, and professionals to submit their abstracts for the 1st General Assembly. We are looking for original contributions that align with our thematic areas and push the boundaries of Ethiopian astronomy and space science community.
How to Submit

All submitted abstracts will undergo a peer-review process by the Scientific Organizing Committee (SOC). Submissions will be evaluated based on scientific merit, relevance to the theme, and clarity.
Presentation Types
Oral Presentation: A 12-minute live Zoom presentation followed by 3 minutes of questions and answers.
Poster Presentation: A 2-minute oral presentation of the poster.
